    Cardiac Rehabilitation: A Systemic Review

  • Abstract :

Cardiac Rehabilitation has evolved remarkably over recent decades. Once focused solely on safe return to physical activity, today’s programs are multidimensional, bringing together patient education, tailored exercise training, risk factor management, and holistic well-being. It has been proven to be an effective tool for the care of the cases with heart complaints. Research consistently demonstrates that cardiac rehabilitation offers profound benefits for people with various heart conditions, including ischemic heart disease, heart failure and post-surgical recovery. Patients experience reduced mortality rates, fewer symptoms, decreased smoking rates, improved physical endurance, and stronger psychosocial health. And yet, cardiac rehabilitation remains underutilized, mainly due to referral gaps and limited program access. Innovative delivery methods, such as telehealth and remote monitoring are paving the way to broader access and greater impact. (Ståhle et al., 1999a).
